Philadelphia United Methodist Church
Fort Mill, SC
Having outgrown their existing sanctuary and support spaces, Philadelphia United Methodist Church worked with WKWW Architects through Programming and Master Planning to determine their needs for a growing and changing congregation.
This process led the Church to vote to demolish and replace their existing sanctuary with a new worship, education, administrative, and choir practice facility.
The sanctuary design provides seating for over 400 people, plus 70 in the choir and chancel area. The worship seating is designed in a communal style seating arrangement with a sloping floor.
The facility design incorporates audio and video systems, a large narthex for gatherings with an adjacent meeting room and parlor. The new designs provide multiple classrooms, a library, offices and a choir practice room. The design has all new and existing areas accessible to each other from the interior. The building provides over 13,300 square feet and is designed to allow for future expansion.
